This
website has been created out of a deep love and appreciation for my hometown
of
Bradford, Pennsylvania, and its surroundings.
I
have been collecting area memorabilia for over fifteen years. Nothing
large-scale, but
every unique find at a local yard / church / estate
sale was a thrill. All of these items
sat in plastic totes while I
dreamed of "some day" opening a small museum.
Well, why wait for "some day" when the internet is here RIGHT NOW?!
I decided to open my museum in a place where everyone can see it. (And I don't have
to buy an entire building!)
The
pages of this website are filled with images of books, photos, pins,
postcards, and
other memorabilia. Many are from my personal collection.
I have also gathered
images from internet auction sites. These photos
are of unique items that I would
LOVE to have in my own collection, but
was unable to purchase.
In
hopes of having this site be ever-expanding, I am encouraging visitors
to contribute
photos to the museum. If you have an item from Bradford's past,
or from any of the
surrounding towns, that you would like to share with
other visitors, please contact me
on our Facebook page.
Thank You & Enjoy the site!

This website takes its name from the song Back to Bradford, which was written by
Joseph Riley and Mary
Bradley for the Old Home Week and Centennial in 1925.
The
song sums up my feelings for the Bradford area quite nicely.
And I
imagine, if you've taken the time to come and visit this museum,
it
sums up your feelings as well......
Back to Bradford
My heart has been tuned in,
With a station far away.
A station in old Bradford
And they’re calling night and day.
Calling from my old hometown
In the Allegheny hills.
Back in dear old Pennsylvania.
And my thoughts with joy it fills.
So, I’m going back to Bradford
To the county
of McKean
To the state of Pennsylvania
To the towns of which I dream.
Yes, I’m going back to Tarport,
Derrick
City, Duke, and Rew.
Sure I’m going back next August,
So are you, and you and you.
The radio is broadcasting
That we’re all expected there.
‘Neath the arches over Main Street
And the big light on the square.
I can’t resist the calling
And I’m going back to see
That loved place and loving faces
Which mean so much to me.
So, I’m going back to Bradford
To the county
of McKean
To the state of Pennsylvania
To the towns of which I dream.
Yes, I’m going back to Tarport,
Derrick
City, Duke, and Rew.
Sure, I’m going back next August,
So are you, and you and you.
